About

Live Traces… a  new online platform for contemporary live art and performance in Europe, funded and supported by the Central School of Speech and Drama.

About Us: Live Traces aims to widen participation with and access to live art events, providing regularly updated coverage, articles and reviews on live art events and artists both in the UK and internationally. A forum for discussion, analysis and practical activity, as well as a platform for promoting and increasing interdisciplinary practice.

The website will revolve around a changing theme relating to live performance, constantly provoking fresh discussion. For our pilot we reflect on and respond to the title of the magazine Live Traces, looking at the re-enactment and documentation of live events. Springboarding from our theme Live Traces offers a critical dissemination of live art practices, alongside covering newly commissioned work by live artists.

Most recently we bring into discussion Marina Abramovic’s current performance retrospective The Artist is Present at the MOMA, alongside an interview with Bristol based Action Hero. We look forward to an upcoming interview with the acclaimed company 1927 currently at the BAC with ‘When the Animals and Children took to the Streets’ and we look forward to the upcoming Mime Festival.
